Are these the same coil. One is from the All Pro, not sure what the other one came on.

That's a good question. I looked up both and found they were comparably priced below MSRP, priced at $249.35 & 249.95 respectively. Neither site had both for sale.

Same coil, Different label. The only difference is one came on the MXT All Pro (orange label) and the other is sold for the MXT and DFX and so forth.

I run one on my MXT and find it works well in mineralized soil, otherwise I do better with the standard concentric coil.

Ok, I am picking up a MXT in the morning and it has the one that’s labeled D2 on it. Is there a difference in the regular MXT and the All Pro or is it just the different coils.

The regular MXT is only single tone while the all pro is multi tone ID and has ground grab to rebalance while having the tracking locked, has a back lit lcd display. The multi tone would be nice but the other differences aren't that big of a deal as if its dark enough for a back light then I'm going to have a head lamp to be able to see what I'm digging anyway. The D2 coil is about the best White's coil for depth, I can get dimes at a full 10" all day long with a few that have been 12" and thats true depth not what the screen says. The MXT is as deep as the V3i or the E-Trac with the right coil, just make sure to get good quality set of headphones to hear those really deep whisper targets that are almost always the good deep stuff. It is the pro that I am getting. I had a XLT 15 years ago and liked it but then got out of detecting and right now I just have a fisher F2 and teknetics delta 4K so this mxt pro is going to be a pretty good upgrade.IMG_2524.webpIMG_2525.webpIMG_2526.webp

Yep a great detector for sure, it will still take a little time to get used to what its telling you but once you learn it real good you will be getting the really deep good old stuff. Like I said make sure and have quality headphones or you will miss those real deep whisper targets and congrats on your awesome new detector. I even bought a used MXT for a backup so I wouldn't be without one if something was to ever happen and can also use it as a loner for a friend when they want to go detecting with me. HH

Awesome, I am taking it out one day this week to dig up some old railroad spikes and whatever else we might come across. When I got it home and opened the battery tray I was surprised to see that it is actually a 2016 All Pro with that different DD coil. For $350 I am very pleased. IMG_2527.webp

You got a great deal for sure, if your going to let it set for a while just make sure and take the batteries out so they don't leak. I always take mine out in the winter if its not going to be used for a while. HH

Best of Luck to you on the MXT Pro. You'll like this machine. I run the MXT Pro with the 10'D2 coil, same as your set up. I'm a relic Hunter and the D2 coil is a good coil. I personally like it over the detect 13' Ultimate coil. You got a great deal on a great metal detector.

I always run in relic mode trigger forward with my regular MXT, the relic mode gives a little better depth but gives you the same VDI numbers for coins but comes up like buttons and such. No big deal to me as once you get to know the VDI numbers good you know clad comes in different than the silver coins, the MXT is great for telling good stuff from junk by sound which is what I go by for the most part if it' sounds good I dig but I do look to see what VDI it's giving for that certain coin, jewelry, ect.
