I have been to several different parks but yet to find a real ring or any jewelry other than a childrens ring. Do you think there is a "best" particular area or this is just a random shot in the dark finding jewelry in a park?

Clad is not a problem finding at these parks. I have searched around concessions stands, the bleachers area along with the playground area. I have even tried the path to and from the parking lots.

There is alot of "open" area at these parks that I have not tried due to the fact most people are at the areas i just listed above. Maybe I just have not found the right park yet. I am being patient...lol.

Thoughts??

Hey lejeuene, I've actually combed the "lost" section of the classifieds a few times. A popular spot, that kept comming up, was the sidelines of sports fields (not just the bleachers). It seems the boys like to remove their jewels before they get muddy. ;)
I've also found 2 rings and LOTS of change in the kids sand box. (monkey bars, swings and slides)
Have fun!

One area i have found productive is around outdoor basketball courts. One of our local parks has one of these and it seem as players warm up they tend to throw their coats onto the grass just off the asphalt. If you have one give it a try.

Another thing is discrimination, be careful not to use too much

as far a grass goes just dumb luck helps for jewelry
BUT
here are a few of the things Ive learned about rings
check around ALL the equipment in chips sand p gravel etc
swings are great near the bottoms of slides and of course monkey bars
the other one is side lines of sports Fields
follow the white hash line 6 feet on side allllllllll the way down then turn around and do the other side
if its a B ball Field or soccer Field
i snagged 6-7silver rings(i forget) at on soccer complex alone 3 in one day
they were all within 2 feet of each other right in the grass roots 1 inch or less
and 3 WERE on the white line 2 at soccer Fields 1 on b ball Field
get close to the equipment also
i got a honker silver ring once it was only a few inch's from a LARGE metal support pole
i got a silver ring also from were a bleachers that they removed
and a few junkers DOHHHHHH ;D
the gold is Little harder to get so I'll/we'll let you figure that one out ;)

If they have horseshoe pits, check all around there (a ring may have flown off someone's hand). If the park has a lake check around that. Pavillions can be disappointing, all I find around them is garbage.

Good luck,
Nat

I was walking to the tot lot at a school - across the open field. Really just carrying my MD, when I got a tone - it was .75! Some kids just plopped down in the middle of the field to talk or whatever. So, I think it can just be anywhere!

I seem to have my best luck by the benches where parents sit to watch their kids, and also the sidelines of a sports field as mentioned about. Good luck to you. :)

Thanks for all of the advice/thoughts and comments. I'll keep plugging and post that ring I find....ha.

Hi, not being a park hunter anymore, I really cannot say where the best spots would be other than what others have already said, but I have had over the years have friends ask to either borrow a metal detector or help them find lost rings.

Other than the obvious lost on the beach here are the two big categories of where and why rings were lost by friends of mine.

Women playing volleyball, I have had 3 requests to look for rings that were lost while wives or girlfriends were playing volleyball. So that would be one area to consider, especially if in a park like we have here they do have volleyball courts with sand.

Leaf raking - believe it or not I had 2 requests for finding rings lost while raking leaves, I have not figured out why on that one, but one of them the lady lost the ring while using her hands to push the leaves into plastic bags, luckily in that case the bags were not taken away yet by the township and the individual was able to recover it in one of the bags with the use of my borrowed metal detector.

I know that is much but just offering my two cents worth. :)

Now, as far as men losing their wallets, boy, do I have a story to tell about the one that I found that contained 12 one hundred dollar bills! ;D

Um....I lost a wallet a while back....it had a dozen hundred dollar bills in it. Has anybody found anything like that? I'll describe it...it was a....uh...wallet....with.....ummmm....hundreds in it...yeah...that's it!!!! Can I have it back? ;) ;D

But seriously....
I'm repeating what other's have said...but,
Check park benches near playgrounds....areas adjacent to adult activity sites (horseshoe pits, v-ball courts, softball fields)...anywhere adults would have gathered that had activities requiring jewlery removal (intentional or accidental removal).

beer gardens after fests and the sort ;) for the married slobs who want to score without questions
also sledd hills are good not many in saints town tho... LMAO
