Question on the ordering system...

Hi everybody, I have come with another question. Hope it's not considered a dumb question, but I was pondering on my half dollar order bank, and was wondering when I should order for the least amount of waiting time. Seems whenever I order, I have to wait nearly a week, 6 or 7 days.

Here's the info: My WF bank places orders/recieves orders on tuesdays and thursdays.

From my understanding, when the coin supplier drops off the coins on tuesday, the tellers hand him a slip for drop off on thursday

When would be a good time to order halves at this particular bank?

Also, if you want, please share your strategy!!!!

Talk to the vault teller or whomever it is that does the coin ordering for the bank. They should be able to give you the specifics.

All banks and even branches can be different. I can't believe that a bank like Wells Fargo would have any branches that are handing a paper to the "delivery guy". All of my banks, except for 1, uses some sort of online system to place their orders. That last one is a small time bank that calls their orders in.

I think your best bet is to talk to the person that places the orders. If they are getting two orders a week then it's all about when they are placing it. Going by what you said, if you call up and order a box on Tuesday morning and they include it on their Tuesday afternoon order, then it should be delivered that Thursday.

It sounds like they are just not including it on the next order to be requested.

Based on what I know, every bank, and branch of banks for that matter is different, so I think the only thing you can do in this case is talk to the specific manager there and ask her/him the question you just asked us... I have ordered at banks where I can call tuesday afternoon and get my coin by thursday, and I have ordered coin on monday and had to wait 7 days to get it, (following monday... everytime.).

So I think that bank manager is the only person who can answer your question.

I find that a phone call (on the appropriate morning) to confirm the ordering really helps vault tellers who happen to have amnesia.
