Question

I am turning up tons of flint flakes and even a unfinished point in this piece of land next to a river, is there are tons of artifacts to be found if you find tons of flakes? If so would I have to dig a little bit to get to them? I just don’t know where to start digging yet

1320 great advise. I’ve haven’t dug very much with no luck. I could see that taking up most of my time too, almost salted or seeded.

Well alot of these flakes are on top of the ground, ive found probably 50 flakes different sizes in 3 days. Tried digging my first time today and only found one flake beneath the soil lol

From my time of hunting a site like you describe, I have had very little luck due to the fact they were just making spalls and very few points. Look farther up stream or down for tools.JMO
