Questions about vintage detector *Pic's inside

I have this old detector here, and don't know much about it.
Is has Solid State 'Treasure Hunter' TH-30 Japan written on the box.
It is all metal construction, except the coil cover is plastic.
The handle is 37" long, it is 40" long overall.
It is run on 1 9V battery, and it works. I was able to tune it, and it is loud.
I would imagine it is more of a collector piece??
I cleaned it with a damp cloth after the pic's were taken, it will clean up well.

I'm guessing an early 1970's non-VLF TR unit. Odd in that it looks USA-made, it doesn't have a 1970's made-in-Japan look. Besides which I wasn't aware that anything like this was ever manufactured in Japan for the USA export market.

There are several regular forum denizens who collect old metal detectors or at least metal detector history. Maybe one of them will spot this thread and be able to provide more information.

I'm not saying this is an Eico, but in the late sixties-early seventies Eico made a TH-30 kit detector. Your pic looks like a kit to me. I'd start by trying to find a pic of an Eico TH-30.

EICO (Electronic Instrument Company) made all sorts including detectors from 1945 till they liquidated in 1999. They started up in Brooklyn, New York and did detector kits for some years. I assume this is a BFO. Don't know where the Japan comes in unless they had detector parts manufactured there.

My guess would be 60's model,In 1968 I had a simaler looking unit.Mine was red,fiberglass shaft,control box at top like yours with single toggle switch on off.It ran 1 9 volt like yours,with 6 inch coil.I was my first machine,I loved It, The first couple of coins I found with it were 1838 liberty seated dime and 1864 two cent piece.The machine went 3 to 6 inches deep.ah back then those were the days.

My Dad had one in (guesstimate) around 1962, which made me about 5-years old.
