I recently dug out a metal detector that was given to me as a gift almost 10 years ago and decided to give it a shot. I went to a local beach during low tide and climbed around some tidepools and sandbars but didn't find much. 11 cents to be exact. I was hoping to find something a little more interesting (old, valuable, historical, etc).
The question:

When hunting at the beach, where is the best place to look for older more meaningful items?

Look for Cuts on the beach. It is where the water washed out the sand on the beach and created anywhere from 1ft to 6ft step (a mini Cliff). Search the area from the cut towards the water. Hope i expalined this well HH
