Got out for a couple hours and got a couple coppers for my efforts. 1869 Canada One Cent and an 1820 Ireland Crown and Harp token. Decent detail on the 1820 coin but those details are fleeting...on the verge of delaminating.
I actually started the hunt at one of my best sites where the grass is long but still detectable. I was going really slow and low and behold got a solid silver hit! This is the same site and general area where I found the 1809 US Half Dollar and a 1676 French silver so silver tones are exciting! I got the coin out of the plug...and it WAS a silver coin...a 1950 Canadian dime...D'OH!!
I've found a few of those over the years, they are a thinnish coin for their size, and detail isn't strong on those otherwise, for a thin flan they probably didn't have a very strong press as to not damage the planchets; so yours maybe as good as they get, and therefor a pretty decent find!
Great to see you out sweating to the oldies and giving up a pint or two to the mozzies!
