quick question?

im only 13 so i dont have a lot of cash to order halves so where is the best place to get halves. i ask when ever im at the bank. they usually say no or they have a few lose ones but never to many.

or ask parents to loan you 500 and tell them you will not lose it, and sell as you find paying them off

i have tried that by asking to withdraw 500, get the box and when i dump the halves, put the money back into the back but they dont believe me

Your current method might be the best way to go. So many people on this forum get 6, 8, or more skunks in a row. How many banks are you able to get to easily? Don't forget about gas stations and supermarkets, or any other retailer that will have 100+ customers a day. Every good score I have had with halves, has come from $100 worth or less. What boxes I have done, has never produced anything super exciting for me. JMO

My bank will order me as many halves as I want at a time. Just ordered $3,000 worth.

Hi Franklin, I've seen some of the smart a$$ comments some of the other members have been giving you. Don't get discouraged! If money is a issue with you I would suggest searching dimes instead of halves. Where I'm at here in Minnesota I have been having better luck searching dimes. Averaging about 2 silver dimes per $40.00 searched. Also when I was your age I would get $10.00 a week in allowance plus money from helping a local farmer and I would go buy me some silver coins each week from the local coin shop. Keep at it franklin half, You never know when somebody will dump some silver. And what Demon_Wolf said the dimes are a good thing to search. Wish you luck

That's how I started. I talked to the person that orders coins at the bank and asked if she could order me a box of halves, but I would not be able to buy them all at once. I'd have to get them in 2 or 3 visits.

Take the silver that you find and sell it for money to get more halves at a time.

Now I have them order me 2 boxes of halves and a box of dimes a week. I get a box of halves on Thursday, Friday and the box of dimes on Monday.

I stop at banks looking for Customer Wrapped Rolls on Tuesday and Wednesday then start it all again on Thursday.

Good idea about asking the bank to order a box and taking it a little at a time.

If you do get them to order it for you:

1. Make sure you take all the halves as promised, and don't let it linger. If you don't, you run the risk of making the bank mad, and getting cut off...forever!

2. Don't be surprised if they sell parts of the box to others, which is okay. It will show the bank that there is demand for halves.

If you can't get halves, work on dimes. Your money will go farther.
