About how deep, on average, does this search? I know a lot depends on the type of soil, etc., but I was wanting a general idea.

Id say 6" comfortable more like u said on the Type of soil ull easily hit 8-9" if soil just got rained on coil size also plays a big part as well bigger the coil more depth
