Quite the Hunt!!!

I got out for an hour today and may have found something very significant. I am researching it now as I don't want to make a fool of myself and post prematurely. I hope to have an answer soon and will put up a new post. In addition to that find I also found the 1860s New Brunswick large cent. Thanks for looking!

Other find was a false alarm. I was detecting at the extreme low tide line of the river and found what I thought could have been a mammoth tusk. They have been found locally before but I'm now pretty sure it is a piece of wood...

Oh well...at least I found a New Brunswick LC...

Not quite petrified...but it's very dense, probably from being submerged for so long...
