From the land of the Bluenose.....after Sunday being a most unagreeable day with high winds and snow today started off rather tame with just overcast skies. Suffering from insomnia the past few days and got up shortly after Marie headed to work and had light breakfast of Tim's and toast.
Heading towards the old school that I did the other day I had the feeling that I was being watched........um! A relative of that Kid's purple Barny or was it a sign of the day ahead?
Just some glad youz that I didn't buy my car at this lot or I would still be knocking out dents, vacuuming hair and be in the poor house buying bananas!
The day brightened up from there and I didn't make it to the school but stopped at "holy ground" to do the dew
which reminded me that tonight is the night as I write this years umpire's exam. Lord love a duck can just imagine what changes are in store for this season.
Pennies were plentiful especially in left field where I hit a 1957 quarter while at the same time being careful not to disrupt the fauna.
Hit a dog tag, a happy face and eye balled a golf egg here and then the big roar................guess I didn't eat enough breakfast so home for some garlic infused 3 alarm chili. Just glad that I was out of the woods as my breath would have easily set the trees on fire or wilted them to say the least.
Ready to rumble I went to a local park
and slowly gridded it out popping , much to my surprise a silver chain in tact. A few more targets and it was off to pick up Marie, make supper, do the dishes and take a gander at the rule book before writing my exam. No rest for the wicked and too boot....got a call as soon as I got home...extra shift tomorrow....time and half!
Take for the day was the 1957 quarter, golf egg, metal button, happy face, silver chain, a penny sawed in half, 1959 dog tag, key and 85 and a half coins @ $3.30 1/2.
