Haven't been out in the past two weeks after having the 9 silver week and gold watch.

I cut my hand installing some flooring last week right on my digging hand.

Still not healed but working nights this week and figured I my as well head out for a few hrs today.

Nothing rare found the crisp 36 Washington 15 minutes into the hunt. Over the next few hrs a found a v nickle Indian and finally a choppy 18/45 deep and another crisp silver 1908 barber dime surfaced out of the clay.

Been a good season. Worked pretty hard to find a 100 pieces in a season. But it can be done if you stay dedicated through the yr.

Hope to get a few more hunts in before it freezes over.

Jer

Great job! I believe that most of your sites are public parks and such vs door knocking permissions. Finding 100 silvers out of public land is an incredible accomplishment. I’ve only found 35 and I detect too much...

What do you do now? Take a couple weeks off then start Jan 1 on going for 100 again or do you give yourself a break for a year on the 100 target? Seems like a lot of pressure to place on yourself.

Huge congrats! I’m looking forward to you yearly total pics if you find time to take them.

Very nice. Thats a pretty big goal to reach but I guess it all depends on location. Ive been deticting for 3 seasons. First year I had 1. Last year I had 5. This year im at 9 hoping to get 1 more. Next year I'll shoot for 20! Happy Hunting!

I can't fathom a 100 that is so amazing. I'm lucky if I get 5 as well. What machine are is your primary not that it matters but I have heard the etrac is a silver magnet.

That's a lot of silver. I got 30 this year, mostly dimes. This is my first full year of detecting, and thought I did pretty well. I expect my totals will trend down next year, as I am running out of permissions and good public spots. Best of luck to you next year!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Good work, Jeremy. I hope your hands heals well.

Dang that’s a pile of silver! How many days a week do you hunt?

Thanks guys appreciate the comments.

Yes, 95 of the silvers came from hammered park's. I had a few private permissions pre 1850 but they were a bust just a few finds from them.

I don't hunt all year long I do a 3 month spring hunt take the summer off then do 4 months fall and winter.

Probably get out a few days a week 3 or 4 hr hunts. I work once a month in the evenings so I usually will take advantage and go out till I start feeling my age.

Bryce,

Thanks I'm stubborn and should have had them stitch up the hand but I just hate going to the doctor's so its healing slow. My wife normally forces me to go but let this one slide.

Ctx 3030 was the go to machine this season. Just does a great job finding old coins.

Len 30 silvers is a great year. I've been hunting for 26 straight years and have found some rich grounds over the years.

At one point I was hunting every day it was an obsession. I've cut it back over the years just really enjoy the hobby.

I've been able to find 100 plus silvers for alot of years now. Last year I didn't but I spent alot of hunts training my wife and digging for her.

Thad, I will put up a year end post in a few weeks with totals and everything I found this season.

This year I got out alot more without her and I was able to hunt a little harder.

Yes I'll start Jan 1st again with the goal of a 100. We'll see what happens.

Thanks again guys.

Congrats on 100 thats awesome...:occasion14:

One hundred is quite successful! The numbers don't matter... but I certainly think about them! I might be at 35 or 40 which is my best year ever despite getting out less than any other year.

Awesome now 200 next year lol that's a great year

Congrats on the nice hunt! :occasion14:

That's an enviable silver total Jer. How many hours of detecting does that 100 silvers represent? Kudos!

Thank you for the comments fellas.

30 to 40 silvers is a good year in my book. It's hard to find it but it's there if you know where to look.

I probably went out 50 times this year for an average of 3 hours of hunting.

I normally find 1 old coin every 15 minutes or so of hunting. I normally avg two or 3 silvers per hunt.

But I've had some dry spells as well. I've gone a few hunts without finding silver here and there.

I've had some years where I found 200 silvers but I stumbled onto sites that gave up a 100 plus silvers so it made it easier.

I would have to hunt a ton to reach 200. But like everyone I do have a life three dogs three kids and other hobbies a house etc.

I am happy to break a hundred this year for the sites that I had.

Hope next year is just as fruitful but we will see.

You did well. Big congrats

2-3 silvers per hunt ....that's pretty remarkable. You deserve much credit for all the detecting, and ( I would wager) a lot of thoughtful research.
Wishing you an even bigger and better 2020!!!

Thank you guys.

Silver Monkey,

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I put a lot of thought and passion into the hobby.

I spend a lot of time out there and have been blessed to have found the things that I have over the years.

I didn't expect to make it to a 100 this year. It's getting hard to find sites. But the sites that I have just aren't hunted out.

They probably aren't even close to being hunted out.

So I just continue to work those areas and they just keep producing.

Equipment has been a factor as well. Having good machines and spending 100's of hours on them to learn them as well as I can has helped me also.

Hope you all have a great 2020.

Jer
