Nice Tag!! I found one a lot like it from the W,O & D Railroad in Northern Virgina.. is this a name tag for luggage?? Any idea?

Monkey Boy- I think that these tags were secured to wooden freight boxes for shipping. That would be my best theory anyway.

Nice finds. I've found two railroad tags at a spot I hunt. I know the ones I found were used on cattle when they were sent to market, when loading them on railcars were the norm. Mine had the names of the senders and the name of a stockyard that was located about 50 miles away. A little research confirmed that the stockyard in question closed during the early 60's
