Hi,This was found in Calvert It says I&GN on the front and 3 0 on the back,appears to be made of lead
It is about 3/4 inches across, I&GN was the first Railroad through Calvert about 1968 or so, Maybe a weight for a scale, maybe thats what the cogs are for so it wouldent be shaved, Any Guesses??? It current wieght is .2/10 of a oz

If you mean Cargo seal like a lead meter seal thats a pretty good guess I think, I did find somthing else similar but smashed and not legiable, maybe it was a used one and this one wasent used??
Come to think of it, we use somthing simaler to seal gas meters in the propane industry, and when you smashem with a plier type tool it leaves the licensed holders imprint (or #) in the lead, I bet thats it, and this one is used, the other one was probaly just destroyed when opened. Sounds like a pretty dang good guess to me. Thanks, Albert
