~~~Random Stone Wall Roam~~~Almost made it to the Cellar Hole~~~

Got out today for a hike to a new Cellar Hole

Right as i got in the woods i noticed some penned in walls or Paddocks..

So i crank up the T2 and start a swinging...First target was a early ring not sure how early

Then a beauty of a full intact Colonial shoe buckle

Then i got an Ox knob with a piece of the horn still in it!!

Lead button of some sort?And a cool clock winder..After about an hour and a half i was going to make the journey to the cellar and my detector started acting up

I think it's my coil it has taken a beaten over the last few years..Bummer is i didn't have my 15 inch or 5 inch with me..

Then i get stung twice up my shirt by a Yellow Jacket and figure it's time to call it quits...

I still have the new cellar just waiting for me out there..The site will be Blazed very soon...

Looks like the Virgin Mary on the ring. Most of those medallions with that design have the 1830 date under the Virgin Mary. I would guess that's no older than mid 1800s... possibly more modern that that. The buckle is awesome. Looks like you're onto a great colonial cellar hole site JB. Can't wait to see what it produces for you.

Love that buckle , definitely on my list to get a whole old one here !! Rings pretty nice too =) Yellow jackets and me don't mix very well, have to have shots once for getting about 20 or so on me, they just didn't want to quit stinging !

Nice finds, I like the ox knob, could you take a pic of other side for me? I'd be in Abe's shape if I got stung that many times by yellow jackets. It's been a long time but they were prepping me for a tracheotomy in the emergency room. Close one. You never know where one or how big there nest are, they make them in the ground too. I have seen old nest in the winter time that are bigger than a football, that was in the ground nearby a structure.

You are correct my friend. However, the rattlesnakes & heat are still present here so it will be about a month before we hit the woods. I bought a .22 mag. pistol to shoot snakes with so I may get out before frost to hunt-LOL. HH, Q.
