Andy Warhol created the Debbie Harry portrait on a Commodore computer.

I had a Commodore 64 and he did not create this from that computer. It was a DOS machine and could only be used to create and run programs using commands and ASCII code. It had a cassette tape for the program loading and unloading. It never had a color display screen

I did a little Googlefoo and found out it was an AMIGA 1000. This I could believe.

While the lasting impression of Andy Warhol’s post-modernist art continues to be felt in today’s throwaway culture, there was one moment in his career though that may have been bigger than many of us thought. The moment Andy Warhol took his Amiga 1000 and created his first digital work, a portrait of the formidable Blondie frontwoman, Debbie Harry.
