Finally got out now that heat has broken here in Central VA. Hit 2 new sites both were early 1800s homesteads and produced a decent amount of trash however was able to save 3 good relics with the best being very rare backmark Firman and Sons VMI in excellent condition due to sandy soil Apparently only one shipment of these buttons ever made it over from England from what I read? Also nice marine button and WW1 National army collar disc.

Thanks

Pretty cool that you found the info on the backmark. Congrats :icon_thumright:

Them some sweet buttons, congrats!

Wow super cool finds love that sandy soil! To know some of the history of even the shipment of the button is amazing info to have! Thanks for sharing!

Great relics I wish there was the kind of history you have here lol great display pieces and great saves

Quindy Robertson gave me a VMI button, but digging one is on my bucket list. Great saves!

Thanks all

That VMI button is killer! Congratulations!

That VMI is in beautiful shape. I dug a VMI cadet button in poor condition in a paintball field on the Eastern Shore of Maryland about 30 years ago. Because it was in poor condition, I sold it and I was too inexperienced with buttons then to know anything about its backmark.

I think we all made mistakes as beginners
