RARE Watch Fob! 1904 World's Fair Nectar!

Today I was searching at a house built in 1950. I was scanning the backyard right along the property line and dug this out. It rang up as a Nickel. It is from the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. (St. Louis) dating back to 1904..

The front reads:
Silver Medal
Lovisiana Purchase
Exposition
Dr Pepper Trademark
King of Beverages

The back reads:
Home of Dr Pepper
Compliments of the Dr Pepper Co.
Waco USA

At one time the medal was Nickel played but has since wore off..

Welcome to TNet, Very cool fob!

Steve

Looks like BanjoMan gonna be playin' some sweet tunes tonight!!

Thanks! The condition that mine is in, is pretty poor.. So if the right collector came around it might go for 100 bucks tops probably... Wish the nickel plating was still on it.. But im giving it back to the owner of the house.. My oldest find so far.. I've only been actively hunting for about 1 month. So this is awesome! :)

Too bad. You could've removed the rust using electrolysis and then had it re-plated. That would be a sight to see!

Nice find but please don't ever say nectar again! :laughing7:

Haha!! That Diggers show is rubbing off on me..

Man I love that thing! I would say nectar too, lol!

UPDATE.. I went to the owner's house this morning to return the fob. And they let me keep it! Here's to the start of my relic collection! :)

Excellent find,, maybe because it is your first,, you should have it restored.
It will give you lots of pleasure reflecting back,, over the years.
Congrats

Sweet.
congrats on an awesome find.

Love the eagle! I think you should keep it as is (not replated) - it tells it's story better. What a gorgeous find.

Amazing find! Just goes to show you that treasure comes on many forms!
