Found this while digging an old 1900-1920 dump site, was lying in a big concretion of iron rust, other than that its either brass or copper- not sure. There are no markings i can see, or seams.--apx 4 -- 4 1/4" wide

Fantastic item - a very desirable piece.

Nice.My dad had one of this,He bought it over seas.Bought it as a
pipe tray.When done smoking ,lay in to cool off,and it was big enough to dump
the ashes in,with out making a mess,as would little ashtrays.
