Ran down the street to the town's local park and detected for a couple hours. Deep signals but no coins later than 1977. Although I did find an old doorknob about six inches down which was quite surprising since I was detecting where there was once a baseball field and now holds our outdoor ice rink. I'll take it though. I was just glad to get out detecting instead of out shoveling snow.

I think that a lot of parks were at one time dumps. Actually, around here I know for a fact they were. SO much odd trash.

That's a nice knob you found though.

EDIT: I just noticed you were from Minnesota so there ya go..

Yeah, I talked to my dad and he was saying that before a park it was just a field and probably was used as a dump.
Are you making fun my accent there?

Naw, I wouldn't make fun of anyone's accent + I'm from there [here] too.

The spelling in my profile is just a little "different" since it was borrowed from the WIKI page.

That's a great looking knob you've got there Nate!:award_star_gold_2:

Our house was supposedly built late 1940s and our doors have knobs like that! Cool

maybe it's the top of a really huge diamond ring :happysmiley:

some collectors pay big bucks for those glass door knobs.....nice find

Congrats on a cool door knob!
