i was at wal mart tonight and as the cute cashier handed me my $4.00 back i noticed one of the dollar bills had red numbers and letters and a star at the end of the numbers where a letter usually appears. ive had several of the star dollars, but whats up with the red ink?
if my sister in law will let me use her digital camera, i'll post a picture tonight.
any info will be helpful.
BY THE WAY THE DOLLAR IS A 2003 SERIES.

Does the obverse of your $1.00 bill look like this? If yes, then this is the United States Note (as opposed to the current currency - Federal Rerserve Notes) that I mentioned in an earlier post. The UNITED STATES NOTES were issued by the US Government, the FEDERAL RESERVE NOTES are issued by the Federal Reserve Bank. May I suggest that you do a little research on the Federal Reserve Bank so that you become acquainted with the FACT that it is not authorized under our Constitution. If I were you, I'd hang onto the US Note because some day it may be the only currency still having value when the Federal Reserve Notes take a dump. Just my 2 cents, take em or leave em.

Interesting that it is in Red. Maybe they started printing the star notes in red again.

OMG. Sorry, but these red notes has not been printed in years...make that decades. The color has nothing to do with the star. Star notes are merely replacement notes for those that have been pulled at the time of printing due to defects.

thank you for finding my red dollar bill I have been looking for it a very long time.

here is a more recent one
