I thought this was a bale seal,my detecting buddy got looking at and correctly identified it as a three cent nickel awesome find wish I could remember where I found it .Its definitely a bucket list item .When I wish for finds I should be more specific.what I wanted was three cent silver as mine is practically unidentifiable. Thanks ,That’s a great pic wish mine looked like that but I’m still very pleased

What is the difference in this coin and a "Trime"?

Great find, BTW...

Not silver for one I guess they just printed different coinage of the same denomination . I think it eventually led to the coinage act or something like that.

Still a nice find. If you had some Andres Pencils you could probably clean it up and make it reasonably presentable.

She’s corroded pretty bad i don’t think she can handle much .if I try I’ll repost pics.

The iron deposits opposite eachother make me think it may have been holed and linked together to make a coin bracelet? Can't say I've seen ferrous links before but it makes sense for non-precious coins, i guess.

Anyway, if it is from a coin bracelet, i'd bet the rest is lurking in the vicinity so it might be worth revisiting. Cool find!

That’s awesome! I never see people finding those.

It's harder to find a "Trickel" than it is a "Trime"! :laughing7::icon_thumright:

Finding a 3 Center is right up there on my Bucket List.
Congrats

I gonna start looking for one of those.:laughing7: congratulations on a rare find.:icon_thumright:

At least you can identify it ! Nice find.

That's awesome! Been at this for close to 30 years and still don't have a 3-center of either type- Congrats!
