Reel sweet find

I found this bad boy at an abondoned house on a lake, I didn't even need a detector. I saw some shine poking out of the ground in an area of long weeds next to the lake and was really happy with what I got when I dug it out. Shakespeare "Wondereel" made from 1940 to 1945, original line and all.

I looked up the model number GA which is on my reel and it dates from 1940-45. I did not know they made them for so long though, thanks for the info!

Thanks! I have found little parts and pieces of old reels too but this is definitely a first. It should work well, everything was made much better back then.
