Hi my name is john i am new to the treasure hunting and absoluty love it i recently came across a relic master G.E.B. super metal detector model no RM5HM date ke can anyone please tell me anything bout this detector looks really old takes 15 dbl a batterys cant wait to try and see if it works thank you 20170522_210751.webp

Welcome to Tnet John, I wish you luck with that machine. It's a hobby to some and an obsession to others.
 

welcome to the forum. That is vintage 1974 Whites. It was like the GEB Supreme, except without the TR disc. on it.

What I find interesting about yours, is that it lacks any decals or logos. I wonder if that was a prototype where Whites hadn't even gotten around to putting their name on it yet ? Interesting. That's a double-stacked tuner knob on the lower left, eh ?

It wouldn't have much value or function today. Except as a curiosity piece. The GEB Supreme sold lots. But the relic master didn't sell too many. Some guys in So. CA were using those type of machines to tackle black sand beaches back before the invention of pulse. You could "ride the knob" with each step closer to or further away from the water's edge.

Let us know if you get that working.

Personally, I'd hang it on the wall and not waste any time with it. Get a good modern detector and have fun!
