This morning I figured I would start my day by getting outside for a bit since it was so nice out and do some detecting. I decided to go to a local park with some nice history. This park has been hit hard over the years but occasionally I still find a keeper here and there. After digging an ungodly amount of trash I got a decent signal and dug a small button with a design that appears to be an eagle on it. I'm not really sure what it's off of but it looks to be pretty old. After I found that I started to get frustrated with the high density of trash so I left and did a quick hunt in my mother's yard. I thought I completely hunted it out until I came across a sketchy signal that I dug and found a religious pendant. I'm thinking probably 1950s era. Nothing too significant today but it was nice just getting out on a beautiful day like today.

Congrats on digging two good relics from pounded area!:blob9: Maybe the button will clean up better. I've never seen a pendant like this one -- is it silver? :dontknow: Andi

Nice digs, never seen that pendant either, think it is old and the button is probably worth cleaning up gently too !

nice and old!

Cool finds! Bet they'll clean up nice.

Nice. I found a button like that last year. Found one just like it on eBay back when, listed as WWI Marine button, but couldn't tell you if that is accurate. Mine was missing the whole back side, so that where it stopped for me. Congrats.

Yea mine is missing the back also, it's hollow. And the pendant is not silver, I'm unsure about what metal it's made from. I'm going to purchase a tumbler soon to start cleaning up some of my finds....anyone have any suggestions to what kind of tumbler, I was thinking just a cheap one. I'm not looking for something really large just one I can throw a few small items in.
