Report from Punta Cana

Just got back from anniversary/metal detecting trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Spent each a.m. low tide detecting for a few hours. Probably between 12-15 hours total. Hunting during the day was NOT an option. I tried it once and the European tourists would not leave me alone. Also, 90% of the finds were in the wash. I began hunting waist to shoulder deep the first two days only to manage two,or three targets an hour. Once I hit the slope, targets were plentiful. Unfortunately, most of them were of the steel coin variety, ringing medium on the CZ21. Did manage to find 255 coins, 4 silver rings, and an 18k necklace with three 18k friends.

congrats! I've been twice and it was too rough for the water both times but still managed gold in the wet sand.
