I spent 4 hours on my own going back over a Roman site that we discovered last Nov & finished in early Jan. We had previous had just over 100 Roman bronze coins & no silver, but Cru'dad had a very rare brooch. The reason I'm back on this site is because the stubble/grass/weeds have been sprayed off & disced in. It's still pretty choppy but good enough to detect.
When doing a site for the second time, I take more time & clear more nails/small lead & iffy signals. It paid off today with 16 Roman Coins (nearly double our combined total for last month), so at least I maybe moving closer to another good find.

At over 12" I had the largest Roman Lead Steelyard Weight I have ever seen.

Nice finds! The soil there is tough on relics. Any idea why so many German jettons come up in the UK? HH, Mike

They competely flooded the market with cheap alternatives & made the UK & French Jetton Makers go bust.
