So I was inspired by some of the recent finds members have posted and decided to put some of my research to work and check out other traffic islands around town. It payed off after I popped a v nickel (1911) out of the ground on my third pass! Sadly no silver was to be found, but plenty of clad, nautical theme button, an aluminum coin from Costa Rica, 3 wheaties, and an oil lamp wick adjuster knob (patented 1890).

I'd be turning cartwheels with a day like that. Good work!

Congrats. Haven’t seen many V Nickels posts...they are elusive. Good finds.
