VINO LOOKS LIKE YOU HAD A GOOD DAY HUNTING AND THAT BUCKLE IS REALLY A NICE FIND .

George - here are some example of Rev War buckles, and your appears to be similar to one in the middle of the top row. Great late colonial find!

Great, thanks Bill.
I just ordered that book, 10 mins ago..lol

Congrats on having a great relic day George. Love that buckle.

Nice find george, I found a bell like that last year almost totally intact, missing a small piece off the back

I'm really liking that buckle. I can see the small variations that lets you know it's hand made. When I see things like that it takes things to a whole new level for me. Congrats on your colonial streak ol buddy. YOU DA MAN[emoji6]

Steve

Love the buckle, before long you are going to be able to dress up as a Revolutionary War soldier for Halloween, complete with authentic hardware!

Killer buckle George. Funny, seeing it cleaned up here I thought the same thing Steve said about its little variations and being hand made. Then I scrolled down and see he said just what I was thinking! Great color on that buckle too. Keep these finds coming man... What an incredible year. Huge congratulations.

Thanks Sleuth, it was a fun hunt.
And a great one for you.
Let's keep it up.

Yep, looked handmade to me as soon as I saw the pic. Seriously nice buckle, and your year end total pics are going to be classic! I hope you bring your detecting magic to England haha!!!

Nice save on the buckle, I've never heard them referred to as petal bells before, so I just learnt something new.

The metal type, construction & tooling look 18th C to me, but not sure how you would connect it to the Military other than its unusually large. So I would be 80% happy to say Rev War Buckle. Nice find either way.
