Hello all I am new to this site...and love it here are some finds I have made over the last few years in Rhode Island. I wish we had the great material you guys in the south and west find! It is getting harder and harder to find good spots in RI.

Welcome to Tnet Snakeman!! Those are some great looking pieces you have found. Congratulations and keep on looking. Post'em when you find 'em. We have a great bunch of folks on here that will help you id most anything you have questions about. Hope to see more of your past and future finds on here.

That's a nice frame. How big are some of the largest points? Thanks for sharing.

That is a very handsome frame of points you have there, impressive !

Thank you...I look forward to being part of this collecting comunity...here are some more... the frame with the red background is RI and MA mix and the other is all stuff I collected while doing beetle research on Nantucket Island MA for the past 13 years. The first frame I posted yesterday the largest point in the center is just under 3 inches.

Fantastic collection!
Love those roller pestles!! and is that a big turkey-tail in pic. 005?
Very nice, Snakeman!!

Very impressive collection.

Hey Snakeman, I just noticed this post on RI artifacts. Very nice collection! That looks like a broken fluted point in the red tray. Can you tell me if that was a RI or MA find??

Charl...yes that is or would have been one large clovis... talk about a heartbreaker it is an ancient break. I found that point along with a smaller COMPLETE clovis made out of the same material. The small complete point was stolen... I think by what I thought was a friend but could never prove it!!! They were found in 1982 in West Greenwich during a contruction project (new ball field) the site is now all grass. Other than the two points only a few chips were found. The project went quick with very little time to hunt the site. I was only a kid...only if I knew then what I Know now...Being such a rare peice in southern RI (I did not know that back then) I always think of the small point and how I wished I still had it...carma will get the A-hole who stole it.

lets get out this spring!!

That is a heck of a bummer and I'm sorry to hear it. I lost a valuable collectable through theft years ago and it still hurts. Very, very, very few fluted points officially known from RI. All surface finds, none in excavated context. Your 2 are unknown to the archaeologists in RI. I will PM you some info I have on what is known regarding paleo finds in RI.
