I joined the forum back up yesterday. Today I find this freaking thing. The reason I joined back up is because I have found some incredible ri points as f late and need your guyses expert opinions. Here is this bad boy.

Do you think possible resharpened point into a drill. Like they reshapend levanna points into t base drills?

Its Felcite. The gase is not grounnd. Have no idea. I have found meadowood drills but they arnt quite the same however similar. Never seen a fantail base like this.

I don’t find many drills and the ones I do find are pencil style but usually broken

The lithic resembles Marblehead rhyolite. Normanskill, Meadowood, and Lamoka can all have convex bases. I might still go with Meadowood on that one. Esp. with a base that convex. Meadowood bases sometimes show usage as scrapers. Notches would be broader in Normanskill, and while base can be somewhat convex, not that dramatic. I’d go with Meadowood….

Your point is side notched. Dovetail will be corner notched. Rare in RI, I have seen a couple from here….

I do hate when people say Rare. Rare is relative, I hunt everyday. every hour free. However, your input makes sense. Didnt know they used base as scrappers

It was found at a major Brewerton Sight. They Can be 7 inches long in RI
