It appears to be silver but i found some silver spoons and a pocket watch front and they had tarnished really bad! I think this is white gold i am going to have to get it tested how shall i get it tested without buying the kit myself? it came out the ground MINT and was in middle of cornfield. Thanks. Lee

You can take it to a jeweler to have them test it for ya. It costs me 8 dollars to have them do it.

You can save the eight bucks, but telling them that you are interested in selling it for scrap gold!!! most jewelers are buying gold now!!!!

Make sure they are using the electronic tester though the acid test usually involved taking a sample by scratching it on a stone!!!!

:hello:

You do get Anglo Saxon rings of similar design :read2: but usually to pieces are twisted together. You need to check it out with the UKFD to be sure.
A Little demestos applied to the ring will determin wether it's Silver, if it Blackens you know it's Silver....it won't hurt it any

I had a close look at the ring recorded on the ukdfd site and the one similar to mine looks like 1 piece of metal mine is made from 2 strands twisted together. Mine is strong and fairly heavy for its size. Thanks for showing me that silver searcher interesting. Very similar for sure! :icon_thumright: Ill have to get it checked out by ukfd and see what they think. Cheers HH. Lee.
