Well, seeing as its illegal to post/export a pebble or stone found on the beach in Greece (without Licence), they would be dodging jail time if that where a dug Medieval ring. ie. a dumb thing to say on the www.
Anyways I can tell you its a fake, so the seller only told a lie which is not against the Law.
