✅ SOLVED Ring?

Pulled this out of a school yard. The school was in operation between 1859 and 1958. Initially I thought it was a copper wedding band. Once I got it home and cleaned it, I noticed one edge is grooved. So now I'm not so sure it is a ring. Were rings soldered together like this appears to be?

Looks like a ring to me as l have found ones like that before.

Many older rings were gold plated to make them more affordable.

If I had dug it I'd be thinking ring.
Many dirt farmer's bought the gold washed rings.
Found a few over the years.
Some even have a kt stamp.

Maybe a homemade poor man's ring.

I've been reading that these rings were more than likely brass rather than copper. I haven't been able to nail down if these rings were soldered together, nor any date ranges.

I think it's a ring. Maybe it was cut down to fit another persons finger or the owner lost weight??
