Rings 12, 13, 14... Thought one was silver but nope!

Token and rings are great finds, good work, keep hitting that spot!

Nice job on all the rings.

Off to a good start for 2016 :icon_thumleft:

I see we have had the same luck with faux rings. Be not disheartened, you are digging, you will find gold/silver again. Best of Luck, Sub 8-)

Congrats on getting out and digging, I sort of miss Shakey's, were they used to wear straw hats and striped shirts as they stood making the pizza's by hand (on the other side of the glass).

MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU WANTED BUT NEEET RING AND COINS..

Hey, every junk ring is one more out of the way for the next gold and silver. As long as they keep coming it's just a matter of time.

I dug a class ring a while back that I swore was white gold but nope. It's valadium; which is supposedly "high end" stainless. What a letdown that one was.
It's a nice looking ring but not worth much.

That's not a bad average on the gold. Specially land hunting.. Keep on Hamme-ring!!

Too bad you didn't get any gold this time, but at the rate you pull out those rings you'll likely be finding alot of gold very soon! :treasurechest::thumbsup:

My son and I have each pulled a class ring this year, so far. Mine was the silver valadium... His came out looking gold! We looked and looked for a hallmark, and could only find what looked like GU with a circle around it. Took a few hours of digging to figure out it was GV, not GU.

The first indication it wasn't gold was the VDI. It showed up as a 47. 47 on what was a 17 gram ring. That's odd for gold. Should have been higher.

Second was the fact that the underside of the ring had a slight silver tinge to it. Like it was so highly polished the gold color was hard to see.

The acid test was inconclusive, but it "felt" weird while scratching. That was clue #3.

Internet offered next to nothing for a 2002 ring...

While researching "valadium" I came across a reference to "Golden Valadium" which is a processed stainless steel to give it a golden look. BINGO... GV = Golden Valadium.

What a complete bummer for my kid (who found this particular ring)... even at 10K, 17 grams would have been awesome!

Skippy

Sorry for the letdown but it's great information to put out there. Now I (and everyone else reading this thread) know that if I ever dig a "GV" I'll forget about getting my hopes up.

Love them rings ! Congrats
Glen
