Conditions ripe for deadly rip currents on S. Fla. beaches

If you watch the video you may notice that crappy brown sand on our beaches. Uggly. We used to have beautiful shell beaches before the renourishment. The beach used to be made up of entirely tiny shell fragments- NOT DIRT. If you dig a hole deep enough you will still find the original shell beach.

I am sure the beach renourishment thing will be short lived. The turtles will help us out.

Yo cant expect to change the environment without causing some negative outfall.

spent the last 2 afternoons at the beach....NASTY! However, Walton Rocks was actually pristine at low tide.

Someone should be held accountable for this renourishment debacle. In Martin County the "coastal engineer" responsible is Kathy Fitzpatrick. And to think my tax dollars help pay her salary. I'm sooo ashamed, and disgusted.
