River Bottle Hunt. Old Local Hutch AND A Crayfish In A Bottle!

Hey everyone. This is the treasure hunter formally known as TheMilDetector. Just had to change my name. I'm digging the new layout of the website so far.

Anyways, I went out after work for a short bottle hunt with my friend Shags yesterday. We've been hooked on searching for bottles this summer. I think I'm at about 50 keepers so far.

Here is the take from yesterday.

First bottle of the day was this Ritter Cedarburg Hutchinsons bottle. Found just a few miles south of where it was made. Love finding these kinds bottles.

This is a JR Watkins bottle from the 1920s or 1930s. From Minnesota.

Blatz Beer from the 1920s I believe.

Not sure what this one is I'm guessing an ink bottle?

I thought this little one was going to be a broken piece. Glad its not. Says Laroux on the back side.

Here is the true find of the day. Was cleaning this one out and saw movement. Poor little guy found a good hiding spot and stayed just a little too long.

Really like this art deco style bottle. I'll try to keep this guy alive as long as I can. I guess I'll have to wait to clean this one.

Man you definitely had a great day CD!
Love the look of that Hutchinsons bottle, and the small blue glass ink bottle.

Maybe put the bottle with the crayfish in a bucket of water on it's side and the animal will work it's way out. Otherwise, you're going to have a heck of a time getting it out when it dies.

Thanks Dave. Not nearly our best hunt but always good when a hutch survives over a hundred years in the water.

Good idea about trying to let him out but he's a big boy now. No way he's gettin out alive unfortunately.

Cool you made it to the fest. I haven't gone in a few years. I've never seen it so empty before. Usualy you can't even walk it's so packed.

The little guy will die soon without oxygen from fresh water in his bottle. I would surely offer the bottle and let him live.

Security was checking everyone as they went in, we all had to show a negative covid test taken 72hrs prior to entry. Of course, it was a Thursday evening and the acts weren't that great, Chris Stapleton was playing later that night at a different stage, he's the only act I should've stuck around to see.

I work for Generac here in Canada and we had sponsored the stage, I just wish they had a decent country act scheduled for that night.
