Saturday morning I decided to take a break from the new Etrac and see if I could scrounge up some silver in town. After 7 banks and only 1 40%er for my efforts, I decided to take a road trip and see if some of the smaller towns would cough up some silver. I hit a smaller town about 20 minutes away and was skunked at the first 3 banks. I went into the very last bank in town and wasn't expecting to find anything, but low and behold the teller pulls out $11.50 in loose halves, and I see 4 or 5 white rims while she was stacking them to count. I asked if she or any of the other tellers had any more.....they had $53.50 total and were happy to get rid of them. I managed to get 25 silvers on the day, 5 of which were 1964's. It was the best day I've had in over 3 months! Now I just need to take a trip out to that branch every couple weeks to pick up whatever they have saved. I feel much better now! :hello2:

Keverett,
Nice haul. You have been over due. Glad to see you got some. Got a little lucly myself today. Managed to get 8 silver halves from a few teller trays. Two 1964's and the rest 40%ers.

Amen! I do enjoy dimes every now and again for a change of pace. I really love the design of the Mercury dime....one of my favorite, if not my favorite US Coin design. Too bad I've only found one in the wild......But this weekends score was a welcome change to the 18 box skunk streak I've been on......

I gotta do some roadtrips this summer. Congrats! I know that made you feel like this is all worthwhile!

Good Hunting (it's like a Merry Christmas in the summer!)
