Went to pick up 200 in nickels from Bank of america and as i always do i asked for halves (for spending) she said she had none. So the teller next to her said she had 2 dollar sin halves so i took um. Got home to check for silver ones AND.........They were Ike dollars! 2 1972s and 2 1971s now next time i need to bring in a halve and show them there mistake :tongue3:. But anyway there clad ikes and i was wondering should i spend them? This is the first time i have got Ikes from a bank can they still be ordered? Or should i just hold on to them. Thanks fellas

Her drawer may not be off since she has been counting them as halves, but really you owe her $2.00

You may want to go back and let her know. She will thank you for your honesty, and will keep you in mind if she ever gets anything noteworthy in her drawer.

Having a teller on your side is never a bad thing.

This is a rare opportunity to gain a friendly teller, especially since the Mike aren't worth anything but face really.

That gives me some hope. My pickup bank teller told me she has over $600 in Ikes that someone brought in rolled. Only was able to get 2 rolls so far and nothing. Hopefully when I go pick up a good amount tomorrow I find something good, I'm hoping it's not just all Ikes. Maybe there will be some S mintmarks. I really hope I'm not dealing with someone elses dump. That would be terrible if I am picking up from where someone else dumps. But then again it could be someone just getting rid of coins and not knowing what they are.

In my experience tellers do not appreciate being shown that they are math-challenged or inept.

I have returned big money to tellers who have made mistakes ($100) ($500) and both seemed to think it was all my fault for being a CRH'er.

Oh, and there's the one that shorted me $196.10 and finally returned $150; and suggested that I need to "take those coins back to the bank you got them from".

I'm not sayin' there are no nice bank tellers; just that the memory and the gratefulness is SHORT.

Never mind, Keep on Rollin' !

One time I asked for halves and they had a bunch of them. When I got home I noticed one of the rolls said $25 on it, and it was a roll of susan B's. I actually found a wide rim in those as well. Sometimes tellers make mistakes.
