Hello all Have used this site before, however it's been a very long time.

My husband and I are retired and live in Sacramento CA. We enjoy hiking, metal detecting, biking, rock hunting, finding anything new and interesting.

Years ago we found a boulder next to creek near Georgetown CA with what we thought were some strange carvings on it.

Trying to figure out what they mean.

I'm sure someone in this forum North American Indian Artifacts would know better what they mean and what tribe they were from! :thumbsup:

symbols we had an archaeologist from Sacramento State take a peek - not indian

I'm not sure if that is a 7 (meaning day of rest)? don't know why they used what looks like Roman numerals. Any thoughts,
