It's about 2" long and 1" wide. Here is a comparison with a penny.

I also took a picture of the back. It looks like the back was broken on the rock.

Looks pretty normal to me. A pebble thAt was stream rounded and then broken some time after. It would have worn down spots or scrApings to be some tool. And I am a geologist.

:icon_thumright:Welcome to t-net! :icon_thumright: Interesting rock - looks like maybe the indented area was human-made, but I don't know much about native artifacts. I think there's a forum for that here on t-net where people know lots. Keep your rock! It's tiny so won't take up much space. If after awhile, nobody here can identify it, there may be an agency, college or club near you that can identify it. Have Fun and keep us posted on any new finds. Andi
