Nice cool day very little wind & no rain.
We have finished this field for now after covering 98% of the Roman Scatter. The last piece we may come back to if our options are limited but its not worth us gridding for 1 scrappy every acre.
4 Hours & 15 Minutes;

Decorated Tombac Button
19 Roman Bronze Coins - Couple of album ones
Silver Ant. of Tacitus AD275-76 (New reverse type for us)8-) Only ruled for 8 months from ''25 September 275 - June 276 A.D''.

So another Cru'team hunt.

Very nice finds man. Where's the silver one? Is it in the pic?

Top left on the blue. It has some green patina so might be a copper-core - silver plated. But it counts:thumbsup:

Congrats on the Silver Cru! And again one of these beautiful brown patina coins.... :icon_thumright:

Beautiful coin recoveries! :occasion14:

Pretty good week !!! :notworthy:

Yeap I like these iron red hue types as well. It came from the water logged end of the slope near the brook.

You Brits and Europeans get all the Old Stuff I guess that’s what 1000’s of years in history gets ya.

Super cool finds! Congratulations

Another amazing hunt. If i ever get to go “across the pond” I’m looking you up for a hunt. If you’ll let me! 🤞[emoji2]

True, but our Brit coins are still modern History to many of our other European mates.

Lost track of how many times I've said it, but join the queue, it's a long one, so be prepared to wait.

Wow. That silver is really a spectacular find. The other finds are very nice too.

Very interesting finds as usual, thanks for all your posts. I assume you make an effort to identify and record all the scrappies. Just curious if there is any period of time in the last 2000 years or so from which you have been unable to find coins for some reason?

Ive never been on a plane or out of Canada ever. So it may be a long wait regardless. HaHa
I have been on a boat so that may be my ticket over someday! [emoji2]

Awesome finds, as usual Cru.

Glad that you had some nice weather, and even nicer finds.

Good luck to you and Cru Dad!

I was going to ask if that was silver plate. Very nice. The bottom right looks billon, yes?

Nope, just bronze with museum wax.

Yes Cru'dad makes an effort to ID all the scrappies, & half of them then gets a second ID from the British Museum expert that we work directly with.

Only the period that no coins were produced. (plus a few rulers that I still need)
