As our options are so poor right now I decided to brave the ankle breaker which they are leaving over Winter & will drill a Spring crop.
It's only a 7 inch turn, some places are bad & others have fallen a little flatter. After 6 hours of gridding the good & bad my feet & ankles hurt a little from all the tripping & twisting but it was well worth it. Cru'dad helped for just over 2 hours.
Weather was T-Shirt kind of day, in the middle of Oct!8-)

37 Roman Coins
Pot Shards
Animal Teeth
Metal Working pieces
Fossil
3 Hobnails
Tudor Clothes Fastener
Roman Ring Key combo (Never had a complete one yet!)
Complete large Roman Hair Pin - great survivor.

Once again I am "gobsmacked"! You guys rock it-keep posting the finds

Unbelievable the hairpin survived! Never seen one complete other than coming from an excavation. :icon_thumleft: With 25° in October and good finds a week can't start better!

Always amazed at your posts Cru. No modern coins? Even Westfront finds them on most of his hunts. Good luck.

Nope, it's a pretty remote spot.

You never disappoint with your posts, once again, just awesome!

Spectacular finds you all are making, keep it going!

A MUSEUM IN THE MAKING.....

That hairpin is unbelievable. Just out of curiosity what is the item on the bottom right central of the third picture, the item that looks like a human tailbone?

A Home Run type of day I'd say, congrats on the hair pin, a real beauty find.

My kind of hunt...lots of variety!

Really, really awesome finds!! I would love to be able to just once, hunt an area that held such ancient artifacts. So much history in Britain.
Thanks for sharing.

As expected...over the top, jaw-dropping stuff. I never tire of your awesome finds...Ddf

I think that pin is called a Roman period Bun Head Pin, found one a couple of years back almost identical, same shape but mine had ribs on the head bit. Great find though.:icon_thumleft:

Thanks.

Last of the scrappies added to top.

I don't know how are english laws but you can really go on a hunt in a antique site without any trouble?
In France, it's forbidden and it can go up to a seven-year prison sentence (and a 200,000 Euros fee).

Very cool finds! [emoji2][emoji106]
