Roosevelt and Churchill Biographies

I would like to purchase good, comprehensive biographies on the lives of Theodore Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. What titles do the fine members of this forum suggest?

I read a series of 3 books on Churchill called "The Last Lion" by William Manchester. They were very good. I have yet to read a biography on Roosevelt.

I saw those books on Amazon, but I don't have enough money for a multi-volume set. Also, Manchester was not able to complete a fourth book covering the war years. I eventually settled on Churchill: A Life by Martin Gilbert, which is a condensed version of his eight volume work. It had excellent reviews on Amazon and am looking forward to reading it.

I don't purchase my books new. Check out book sales and flea markets. I also use the library often.
