Need some help for this one, thanks in advance. About 2 and 1/2" by 1" found in a Colorado mining town. Hat badge?? Anyway to date it??

Thank you so much traveler!!! I was detecting a house the other day and the owner brought this out to show me what he had found in the yard. I said maybe I can ID it for you. He will be very excited to learn about this!!! I really appreciate it!!! How cool!!!

My pleasure. Congratulations on a very interesting piece of history. Thanks for sharing. It would make the original owner proud to know his momento had been found and preserved and enjoyed.
