Ruby Color Found

Found this item, appears to be ruby color, but I have no idea how to remove the coral particles to see what it really is.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think the intended recipient of my message “got the picture” quite easily.

But ya ok. These are the areas I thought were shiny. Turns out it’s just clean white coral underneath the algae.

From the outside, looking in, it reminds me of the rocks you'd find all over up Icicle Creek in Levensworth, Washington. There, you can find yourself standing on hills that look like that (aside the rock is different). It's all tiny garnets.
