Dont think or talk numbers. Use the loudness (depth) of target to decide to dig. Anything shallow in the zinc range will be junk. The pro goes pretty deep, just keep listening for the targets that are not so loud and not so shallow. Stop digging loud shallow crap. It's easy.

At first I wasn't going to dig any numbers in the 70's but I find so many neat little objects that may not be worth much in value are still nice to find.

I got an indian head penny that read 72, a Canadian large cent that read 76 and a token that read 77. I used to leave the 76 targets, now I dig them.
