I saw this mentioned briefly in another thread. Just wanted to get other opinions about this. Since I am new to the Minelab line, I'm using my Safari only in the pre-set modes right now (mainly coin & jewelry). So, DOES running in auto sensitivity make one lose a lot of depth?
Also, do any of you have any numbers - even approximate - on how much more depth is added when in all metal versus the pre-set's? Is it MUCH more substantial in all metal (say 3 or 4 inches), or, maybe just an inch or so??
Reason I'm asking, I going to be hitting a very old park here in NJ. I want to squeeze out enough depth to get some of those golden oldies. As we all know, an extra inch or two in this game can be like a mile
Think I have the tones down ENOUGH for now to deal with the symphony of music I am predicting. However, I don't have a choice. In an older spot, I pretty much dig anything anyways.
Appreciate your two cents - pun intended
