My friend (Pikespeakcharlie)was telling me about this token he had found years ago. A few hours later I found one. The saloon tokens have gone up in value around here. I am not sure if I should clean it more or not. I could bring out the brass color on the letters with some fine steel wool.! Happy Hunting!! IMG_20210616_193645433~2.webp

Can you believe it !! We were reliving me finding that token about 29 years ago and ya go out and get one:headbang: Congrats on a rare local token !! We will have to discuss my token finds every week and see what ya get :)

Nice!!!! Congrats!!!!

Sam Strong the owner of the strong mine in Victor was shot and killed in this saloon by the owner Grant Crumley, but you new that

Thanks for the posts!! it was pretty nice because I found it OTWBTTC!!!! I have wanted to say that for a while!!! I did not know that about Sam Strong, but I have probably read it somewhere. I love that it has some history. Thanks for letting me know!!

Great Token Nice Save!!

very cool local find!

cool find, i wouldn't clean it at all, looks pretty good to me! up to you though.

Thanks for the posts, I'll leave it for now. I sure love the saloon tokens!!!

Thanks Florida Finder, this find will keep me going all summer!!!

Now that is a cool Colorado gold era saloon token. I visited Cripple Creek once in the late 1980s.

Hi Steve, it's changed quite a bit. Do you remember through Victor? Our small town is having a little boom, and things are getting fixed up!! I try to jump on any construction. One of the casinos in Cripple Creek is a doing major parking garage and hotel. They have the center of town dug up. I made the big big big mistake of asking permission. I should have just detected it.

Great token! I'm kind of a token nut, and that one is a screamer, congrats!

That token is awesome! I would leave it, the authenticity is in the patina and wear!

I appreciate the posts! Old patina you can't get back. I imagine I'll sell it in the future, and let the new owner decide. Oldmxrat, I'm a token nut also. We don't have the old coins like out east. It's exciting finding old west history!!!

Thanks Jeff for bringing that story to light. Oh how I love the old west history, and to be digging it up!! Such a great read. I'll have to print this to put on display with the token. Awesome!!!!
