people ask if cleaned - large % of my nickels come out pretty clean no matter the age
depends on soil found in - these in pic were "as found" and they were in rocks with over a foot of clean sand over them

those were from a water hunt in CT. a few yrs ago - I found a few this year that came out just as clean
